Fundraising Golf Day for Reach Beyond

It was Friday, 23rd November and it was wet – very, very wet, but that didn’t stop a keen group of golfers arriving at the picturesque Eastwood Golf Club in Kilsyth South ready to tee off come rain, hail or shine.
It’s the second consecutive year Bell Real Estate has been involved in the event both as a major sponsor and as participants, partnering with other organisations to help make the day both successful and fun.
Despite the weather, it was both. Spirits were high and the sense of community strong, the 19 teams of four and their supporters braving the elements regardless. Representing the Bell Group offices were Trevor Bell, Elliot Bell, Ryan Bell and Jarrod Peterson.
With holes fast filling like small swimming pools and greens starting to look like lakes, play was cancelled after the seventh hole, seeing everyone head indoors to dry off, warm up and relax in the clubhouse with a meal and more good cheer.
While the day offers an excellent opportunity to forge stronger bonds with community members and businesses, this year’s annual Reach Beyond Golf Day also saw PGA professional golfer Euan Walters in attendance, seeing a few valuable golf tips shared too.
More importantly, the event raised more than $12,000 in support of Reach Beyond’s campaign to provide urgent assistance to the estimated one million Rohingya refugees living in Bangladesh’s refugee camps.
Reach Beyond has so far provided 10,000 blankets and helped set up a medical clinic, with funds raised going towards operational costs, medicine, more blankets, additional medical teams and more.
